"Aho what? Is it a real word? Is it the name of the lady in the Logo? Who is she?"...

Updated: May 31, 2023

Today, I will answer to some of the most asked questions, you've asked so far and the story behind the Logo.

  • AhoTuLag - No, it is not the name of the lady in the Logo... and no, it is not a real word.

I created it, by "playing" with 3 words, that mean a lot to me. It's a mix between a native American word, (In many Plains Indian languages, "Aho" and other variants, are greetings, like "hello") and two old Norse ones, ("Heilagr", that means protected or sacred and "Nattura", that means Nature or natural).

It is a personal greeting to something, that is very sacred to me and that I try to protect as much as I can...Nature.

  • Now, about the lady in the Logo, her name is Sonia...yes, she is me!

My Logo was designed by an amazing Portuguese artist, called Monica Marinho. I met her in 2007, when she was studying Psychology and I've always told her, she was going for the wrong job, she should have been working more on her art work...honestly...it was already impressive back then. We had a chat about how I'd like my Logo to look like, my business core values and she created the Logo!

  • I am holding the Planet, with the same protective and loving way, I used to hold my bump, when I was 8 months pregnant of my youngest son, Connor;

  • I chose the colour blue for the dress as it my favourite colour;

  • My hair is long and naturally wavy, as a symbol of my own freedom to be, have and do whichever makes me happy;

  • The word "AhoTuLag" is written in Navy blue, my favourite tone of blue...I couldn't not pick it. The "O" has been specifically placed, on top of the "T", creating an Egyptian ankh, a symbol of life, the balance between male and female, the union of heaven and earth. A magical balance like all in Nature...

Monica was extremely professional and always keen to go the extra mile to tick all my boxes and even gave me new ideas, like the Egyptian ankh. The result couldn't have been any better...she even managed to add my freckles to it!!

I couldn't recommend her highly enough...check her website and see for yourself!

I hope you've enjoyed a bit more behind the scenes, how the name AhoTuLag came to life, its meaning and who's the lady in the Logo!

Watch this space, I'll be back in 2 weeks!

Love,

Sonia xx
